A dissemination workshop on renewable energy sources was held at SSU with the participation of scientists from Denmark and Italy

On May 23, 2024, a dissemination workshop on renewable energy sources was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU) with the participation of scientists from Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and University of Bologna (UNIBO). Professor of  UNIBO Paolo Valdiseri and professors of DTU Mads Peter Sorensen and Per Sieverts Nielsen visited Sumgait State University. After getting acquainted with the SSU, the guests met with the rector, associate professor Rufat Azizov. Speaking about the ‘REFRESH’ project in which SSU is a partner within the Erasmus+ project funded by the European Commission, the Rector said that this project is highly appreciated in terms of curriculum development on renewable energy sources and national staff training in universities. The guests, in turn, informed about the prospective directions of cooperation with universities within the project. Later, DTU professor Mads Peter Sorensen spoke about the Teacher Training (ToT) seminar, which was implemented jointly with Azerbaijani partners at DTU within the framework of ‘REFRESH’. Professor Paolo Valdiseri from the University of Bologna addressed the faculty and students on ‘Energy Efficiency in Buildings’ and spoke about the importance of research involving technical management and educational innovations in the field of ‘green economy’ and renewable energy. The event continued with the discussions held with the participation of professors and representatives of partner universities of the European Union. It should be noted that 6 local and 4 European universities (University of Barcelona, University of Bologna, Royal Technical Institute) are part of the consortium under the project ‘Green and sustainable global economic improvement at Azerbaijani Universities: renewable energy and climate change mitigation – REFRESH’.
