Azerbaijani Partner HEIs of REFRESH Project Join KTH-Led Remote Lab Training Under EU-Funded REFRESH Project
Training
On December 6, 2024, partner Azerbaijani higher education institutions (HEIs) of REFRESH project participated in an advanced training session organized by KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The training, titled "Development of Remote Laboratory Exercise Through the Example of PV Lab Exercise," focused on enhancing technical capacity in developing remote lab solutions for photovoltaic (PV) system studies.
The event gathered representatives from Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Sumgayit State University, Mingachevir State University, Lankaran State University, Ganja State University, and Azerbaijan Technological University.
Led by Taras Koturbash, an expert from KTH’s School of Industrial Engineering and Management, the training provided complementary programming skills to support technical reports on remote lab exercises. Participants explored practical applications of LabVIEW and Arduino Mega 2560, learning how to implement low-cost controllers and data acquisition systems for student lab work involving measurement and control.
Additionally, attendees were introduced to developing and hosting web interfaces for remote laboratories using G-Web development software, LabVIEW, and the NI Web Server platform.
This session is part of REFRESH’s broader capacity-building efforts to modernize engineering education in Azerbaijan, promoting interactive, remote-access lab environments in the renewable energy sector.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for Azerbaijani universities to strengthen their technical know-how and contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of REFRESH project outcomes.
